Privacy Policy

QuickyWiki ("we", "us") is a reading app that turns encyclopedic knowledge into short, beautiful summaries. This policy explains what information we collect through the QuickyWiki mobile app and our website at quickywiki.app, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We collect the minimum we need to run the service — and we do not sell your data or show you ads.

1. Information we collect

Account information

You can sign in with Google or Apple. When you do, we receive your name and email address from your identity provider through Auth0, our authentication service. We never see or store your password.

Guest mode

You can use QuickyWiki without an account. In guest mode we generate a device identifier so we can keep your preferences and quota without knowing who you are. If you later sign in, your guest profile is migrated to your account.

Preferences and activity

• Interests and settings — the categories you pick for your daily digest, your preferred language (English or Arabic), and notification preferences.
• Reading data — your reading list, reading progress and stats, and your on-demand summary requests (with the quota that applies to your plan).
• Feedback — ratings and comments you leave on summaries, and any general feedback you send us.

Purchases

Subscriptions are processed by Google Play (on Android) or the App Store (on iOS), together with RevenueCat, which manages subscription status for us. We receive your subscription state (for example: trial, active, expired) — we never see or store your card number or full payment details.

Technical data

• Device and app data — device identifier, platform, and app version, used to operate the service.
• Push token — if you enable notifications, a Firebase Cloud Messaging token is registered so we can deliver them.
• Integrity checks — we use Google Play Integrity to verify requests come from a genuine app on a genuine device, which protects the service from abuse. The attestation token does not identify you personally.
• Usage telemetry — the app sends us anonymous-by-default event data (features used, performance timings, errors) to help us fix bugs and improve QuickyWiki. Telemetry goes to our own servers — we do not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers.
• Server logs — like most online services, our infrastructure may log standard technical information such as IP address and request metadata for security and reliability.

Website waitlist

If you join the waitlist on quickywiki.app, we collect the email address you provide, used only to tell you about the launch and product updates.

2. What we don't collect

• No advertising or cross-app tracking — the app contains no ad networks.
• No location data, contacts, photos, or microphone access.
• No payment card numbers — purchases stay with Google, Apple, and RevenueCat.
• No selling or renting of your personal information to anyone, ever.

3. How we use your information

• To provide the service: sync your library, remember your progress, and personalize your daily digest to your chosen interests.
• To process and maintain your subscription and free trial.
• To send notifications you've opted into — daily reading reminders and product updates. You can turn these off anytime.
• To keep the service secure, enforce fair-use quotas, and prevent abuse.
• To understand how QuickyWiki is used so we can improve it.
• To respond when you contact us.

4. Services we rely on

We share data only with the processors needed to run QuickyWiki:

• Auth0 — sign-in and authentication.
• Google — Google Sign-In, Google Play Billing, Play Integrity, Firebase Cloud Messaging (push notifications), and in-app review prompts.
• Apple — Sign in with Apple and App Store purchases (on iOS).
• RevenueCat — subscription management.
• Microsoft Azure — hosting for our backend and data.
• Wikimedia — the app fetches openly licensed source material (such as Wikipedia articles) to build summaries.

Each of these providers processes data under their own privacy terms, limited to what's needed for their role. We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect our users and service from fraud or abuse.

5. Storage and security

Your data is stored on our backend hosted with Microsoft Azure. Data travels encrypted over HTTPS, and authentication tokens on your device are stored using encrypted storage. Access to production data is limited to the QuickyWiki team.

6. Retention

We keep your data while your account is active. If you delete your account, your profile, reading list, and associated items are deleted from our systems. Guest profiles are tied to the device identifier and can be removed on request. Waitlist emails are kept until launch and a reasonable period afterwards, or until you ask us to remove yours. Some minimal records (for example, aggregated telemetry or logs) may persist for a limited period for security and reliability before being rotated out.

7. Your rights and choices

• Delete your account — in the app, go to Settings → Delete account. This removes your profile and reading data from our servers.
• Notifications — disable them anytime in the app's settings or your device's system settings.
• Access, correction, portability — email us and we'll help you access, correct, or export the personal information we hold about you.
• Email preferences — you can opt out of product emails at any time.

Depending on where you live (for example, the EU/EEA or UK), you may have additional statutory rights, including the right to object to processing and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

8. Children

QuickyWiki is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as QuickyWiki evolves. Material changes will be announced in the app or by email. The "Last updated" date above always reflects the latest version.
